THE BIG ADDICTION CONVERSATION

17,000 CONVERSATIONS.

1 FOR EVERY LIFE LOST.

Each year around 17,000 people die from alcohol- or drug-related causes in the UK. That’s why we’re aiming to start 17,000 conversations about addiction – one for every life lost.

Addiction touches millions of lives. Yet it can still be incredibly difficult to talk about. Too often, addiction comes with judgement, shame and misunderstanding. The goal of The Big Addiction Conversation is to get more of us talking. You don’t need to be an expert or have personal experience of addiction to take part.

You just need to be open to the conversation.

WHY CONVERSATION MATTERS

The Big Addiction Conversation isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating space to talk, listen and explore different perspectives.

A question might make us stop and think. A fact might surprise us, challenge something we thought we knew or spark a conversation of its own. A conversation can help us challenge assumptions, encourage empathy and see things from a different perspective.

There’s no right or wrong way to have a Big Addiction Conversation.

One question might be all you need.
